Qasil powder is a traditional Somali beauty product made from the leaves of the gob tree (scientifically known as the Entada abyssinica tree). The leaves are sun-dried and then crushed into a fine powder, which can be mixed with water or other liquids to form a paste. Qasil powder is used as a natural cleanser and exfoliant for the skin. It is believed to have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties that can help improve the appearance of the skin and reduce the signs of aging. Some people also use qasil powder as a hair treatment, as it is thought to strengthen hair follicles and promote hair growth. It is also mainly used as an acne remedy.  In addition to its beauty benefits, qasil powder is also used in traditional Somali medicine to treat various ailments, such as digestive problems and respiratory issues.

Today being May 3rd, the world marks World Press freedom day. This is a day dedicated to raise awareness about the importance of press freedom and remind governments of their duty to respect and uphold the right to freedom of expression as enshrined in Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The day was first established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1993, following a recommendation made by the UNESCO's General Conference in 1991.  It serves as an occasion to celebrate the fundamental principles of press freedom, assess the state of press freedom throughout the world, defend the media from attacks on their independence, and pay tribute to journalists who have lost their lives in their various lines of duty.  Each year, the day is marked by a theme that reflects current issues and challenges faced by journalists and the media globally.
